Easy reading, well-organized, with excellent graphics

By far, this is the best book I have read on the subject. I'll let you know what my final opinion is once I finish.
The graphics are excellent but suffer from being on poor paper. Aside from that negative, this is probably the best book in the area of SIS and LOPA available. I've read a few others and after a few chapters it is difficult to follow.
LOPA should precede a full-HAZOP because it is more conservative in its approach. With this in mind, the full-HAZOP should look at ways to trim the results of LOPA to find a well-explored optimal level of protection.
I will add to this review after I finish the book.

Good Overview

This is an excellent book that will give you the feel of LOPA and an understanding of its concepts. It does not get into the nit and gritty of how to calculate SIL, etc. However, with things like SIL SOLVER around, you really don't need that. By the way, COP pretty much bases their LOPA protocol on this book.

Great reference, well explained, i want the updated 2014 version v2 which comes out in June. This will keep me until then. I bought a copy for the office and I am training my new engineers with it.
