About the Author
LINDA BROCK, a registered architect in the United States and Canada, is an associate professor directing the building technology program in the School of Architecture at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Her professional work and research has dealt with masonry, stucco and EIFS, "breathable" walls, energy efficiency, adhered brick systems, and Japanese housing models.

Our architects and I agree this is a must have for people who design buiding envelopes. The author is clearly knowledgable about theory and practice and writes clearly for architects and designers.

The real thing

I purchased this book several years ago. I am a curtain wall and aluminum fenestration designer. I come back to this book over and over, with almost every project. The basic concepts and principles in terms of control of water, air, heat and humidity are here described, and then applied to different facade types: bricks, EIFS... A most have if you are in the trade of facade design and construction
