A multiple journey

Reading this collection of outstanding poems is like embarking in a multiple journey.
We travel through what the narrative voice, always that of a woman, recounts, by means of metaphors, about her experiences and feelings, sometimes as a person, hopes, delusions, troubles, uncertainties, and sometimes as a poetess, that relieving creation of a "parallel world".
And every time we're left wondering how what is told about such parallel word of poetry should be translated in events into our.
Also, more or less indirectly, we explore (or sometimes are kinda explored and judged by) the background landscape of the rules, the prejudices and the judgements imposed by the society around her.
Finally, the last journey is exquisitely literary.
The language and tone used, in facts, are classic, sophisticated, lyrical, accultured: worthy of an ancient epic poem.
Such choice may seem peculiar, for poems not revolving around glorious battles and mysterious journeys, but rather around the struggles of a woman trying to live on her own terms despite society and its contradictions... but, in my humble opinion, it perfectly makes sense.
In first place, because many dilemmas here exposed are as ancient as human's capability to introspect and reach out towards the others: nothing new under the sun.
The second reason is that such richness of language conferes to her daily struggles an aura of nobilty, as if she was fighting a battle whose implications are greater, in long terms, than we suspect... as if that wasn't only her battle, but also that of any woman like her... and we know it's like that.
Finally, the third reason is that... there isn't enemy more terrifying than a society of people like you whose rules seem sometimes conceived to crush you down, or to deny who you really are. Such a fight, desperate and heroic, can turn out being harder than that against any mythological monster, and certainly deserves an adequate exposition.
Just like this precious book deserves to be savoured, meditated and appreciated.

As of late I've not read anything as mature or penetrating as the words of this artist. I highly recommend this to those who love the beauty of language. It is impressive, has no comparison.
